BUNS is a member of the MSG Crew, a group of highly respected street artists in Miami. Her mermaid inspired sail was a part of the Street Art Regatta (StAR) produced by Grace Arts, a Fort Lauderdale-based non-profit.

Up on the line. I’m more of a character artist. They do a lot of girls. I don’t necessarily like for them to be human, so I never do them of color either. And it’s my first girl I’ve done with color. I also made her with blue hair because she also is like an underwater mermaid and I wanted to give her that type of me in it.

She’s also more Disney style, like in the eyes and stuff. I felt like that was relatable to children as well. Yeah, it looks cool because I made her hair flowing up to the tip on purpose. So that way the sail. When it wind blows in the wind, it looks like a little wave. Like her hair is kind of flowing in the wind.

I made a mermaid because I would like a lot of other girls to, like, relate to it and just feel like cutesy with it, you know?
