Alec Jerome Studio
In keeping with the Miami Design District’s commitment to supporting emerging local talent, the neighborhood is proud to present the first public showing of Miami video artist, musician, and animator, Alec Jerome Kreisberg.
His debut work, PHONE ALONE USA, is inspired by current events. The video collage/animation displays the artist actively exploring social media for news in 2020, and in so doing, discovering various intersecting truths within a shifting, altered state of consciousness induced by media overload.
“Alec has created a timely and thought-provoking piece,” said Craig Robins, president and CEO of Dacra. “We’re always really pleased to be able to showcase the work of a bright young artist.”
In frenetic fashion, the three-and-a-half minute piece explores the overwhelming aspect of consuming large amounts of information, AI, social engineering, BLM protests, riots, anti-semitism, performative internet behavior, pornography, COVID-19, and the philosophical debate the US is internally waging about which ideology it should look towards moving forward.
“I’m proud to be able to share my work with the community in the Miami Design District,” said Kreisberg, a graduate of New World School of the Arts. “Throughout my life I’ve been inspired by many shows in this neighborhood and I am honored to have the opportunity to show my work here.”
