Groundbreaking: The Underline
The Underline’s Brickell Backyard, Phase 1 broke ground.
Alice Bravo: We’re very excited about The Underline.
Louis Wolfson III: It is the groundbreaking of The Underline.
Meg Daly: We’re celebrating the beginning of construction of the first phase of The Underline called Brickell Backyard.
Louis Wolfson III: My involvement is art and public places, so we want all of the businesses and all of the single-family residence and organizations and foundations along the 10-mile stretch to sponsor these columns with local artists to do their work.
Alice Bravo: It helps promote transit so people become more aware that there’s a Metrorail, and it could help take them places and help them save time.
Meg Daly: The end game is to build the first half mile in 18 months, and then we begin the second phase, which is over two miles long.
Alice Bravo: But the other thing that we want is for more and more people to live and work around the Metrorail because that helps get cars off the road, and that’s ultimately how we solve congestion.
Meg Daly: Then we’re going to go all the way down 10 miles. This is a 10-mile vision, a 10-mile project, 10 miles of great stuff for the community.
