WDNA 88.9 FM

Jazz is a true American-made musical genre that has given rise to much of the popular music that we listen to today. And listening to live jazz, as the musicians improvise in the moment, can be magical.

But as musical venues that feature live jazz slowly disappear, listening to live jazz has become more of an event, or destination, rather than something that is easily obtainable – which is why WDNA 88.9 is so important to Miami. Not only does the community-supported radio station feature live jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz, world music and more, but the station itself is also a venue that hosts many of South Florida’s established jazz musicians, as well as the region’s most promising young jazz musicians, many of whom come from music programs at The University of Miami, and Florida International University.

As with all non-profits, WDNA 88.9 can only survive through community engagement, which is why it is so important to become a member, or an underwriter, and further support the arts in South Florida.
